TVS Motor Company has recently filed a design patent for its upcoming motorcycle, the RTS X, which is set to rival the KTM 390 SMC R. The RTS X was initially showcased at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, garnering significant attention. The patent filing suggests that TVS may be gearing up to launch the RTS X in the Indian market, although the exact timeline remains undisclosed.

The highlight of the TVS RTS X is its new 300 cc engine, known as the RT-XD4, which was unveiled at MotoSoul last year. This powerplant boasts cutting-edge technology, featuring dual overhead cams with a downdraft port for enhanced performance. The engine’s design incorporates dual oil pumps within a split chamber crankcase, ensuring optimal lubrication and torque distribution. Moreover, the dual cooling jacket cylinder head design contributes to superior heat dissipation and overall engine efficiency.
Generating 34 bhp at 9,000 rpm and a peak torque of 28.5 Nm at 7,000 rpm, the RT-XD4 engine is equipped with liquid-cooling, water, and oil jackets. The transmission system comprises a 6-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch, along with advanced features like ride-by-wire throttle and a bi-directional quickshifter.

On the chassis front, the TVS RTS X concept showcases a sturdy trellis main frame supported by a cast aluminium subframe. The front suspension setup consists of 43 mm USD forks offering 180 mm travel, while the rear features a monoshock with pre-load adjustment and 180 mm travel. Braking duties are handled by a 300 mm disc up front and a 240 mm disc at the rear, ensuring reliable stopping power.
With its sleek design and innovative engineering, the TVS RTS X is poised to make a mark in the supermoto segment, targeting performance enthusiasts seeking a blend of power and agility. The bike’s dynamic styling and advanced features are expected to appeal to riders looking for a thrilling riding experience.

As the automotive industry continues to evolve, manufacturers like TVS are pushing the boundaries of design and technology to meet the demands of discerning consumers. The RTS X represents TVS’s commitment to innovation and excellence in the two-wheeler segment, setting the stage for an exciting new addition to the brand’s lineup.
